India on the top of an Olympic list

by Sharique on July 29, 2008

The list has been prepared by the Foreign Policy. And it’s called The List: The World’s Worst Olympians!

The country’s athletic ineptitude is so profound that a parliamentarian called for two minutes of silence to “lament the demise of Indian sports” after the squad failed to win any medals in Barcelona in 1992.

Because Singh is a King

by Sharique on July 23, 2008

At his ripe old age, I do not expect Shri Advani to change his thinking. But for his sake and India’s sake, I urge him at least to change his astrologers so that he gets more accurate predictions of things to come.

Manmohan Singh in a speech after UPA’s win in the Parliament. The full text of the speech can be found here
Even though he has virtually been ‘womanhandled’ by Sonia Gandhi, the kind of maturity he shown is definitely commendable. His well articulated speech in the Parliament definitely proves this. He is not someone who would pander to the desires of cheap politicians and resort to gali galoch. I hope he had more freedom to perform.

Even though I have been in Chandigarh for over an year now, I never had the opportunity to visit Shimla which is only 120 KM from here. We stayed in Kufri, 20 KM from Shimla. The weather was awesome and stayed the same throughout the year. There were no fans in the rooms! Here is an view from the room in the morning
