Chak De has highlights many important aspect of Indian sports which are responsible for the pathetic state of present day affairs-
1. Regionalism. Players are more conscious about their state rather than country. This has to do with lack of professionalism. Most of the players are not professionals because the pay is abysmally low and hence they play for state as a hobby. Regional feelings are bound to be dominant considering the fact that the imaginary boundaries of superiority/inferiority are deep rooted. Jharkhand is considered a land of forest where only adivasis exist. This superlative feeling is so profound that even the movie disparaged the girls from Jharkhand; why can’t the hero of the team be from Jharkhand? Why she is always from Chandigarh/Punjab or Haryana? I do appreciate the fact that Jharkhand is a backward state but then if this is the treatment meted out then who is going to encourage nationalistic feeling? Isn’t Jharkhand a part of India? Does only convent education guarantee quality? Does always beauty lead to success?
I felt utterly pained by the disparaging remarks of players and officials in the movie. I was watching the movie in Chandigarh so the cheer for Chandigarh hockey captain was expected. But why belittling the players from Jharkhand? Remember Bihar was once India’s richest state and its just a matter of time before it recaptures its position. But then is it important? Important thing is that India should progress. The impetus can come from Punjab or Tamil Nadu.
Government has to do more to inculcate the feeling of one nation. Regional disparities have to be eradicated. Let the political divisions be only be for administrative purposes. Let the processes be centralized so as to avoid regional shortcomings.
2. Emotions- It again has to do with professionalism. Do our players need malevolent administrative staff to stir the emotional urge to win? The urge to win and team spirit will come by being a professional. This is what differentiates Indian player from the others and this is something that will come after economic strength comes to the game.
3. Non-Tech savvy coaches- While the Australian coach was using technology to gauge the performance of rival team, our coach Sir, impeccably dressed, was just jumping up and down. This is something the younger generation can bring into every aspect of life. Sadly our elder generation has a phobia of computers.
4. Irresponsible officials- The babus running government offices are either too prejudiced or too lethargic to work…forget initiatives. They form the single biggest reason why Indian governance fails to cope up with its industrial progress. Of course the reasons lie within the department itself. Why should he/she work when there is no performance initiative? Why should he/she do overtime without any extra pay? Bas kat raha hai….
5. Hero to zero in milliseconds- Single performances make someone a hero overnight and a bad performance can demonize the same person in no time. We are just too emotional.
What else can you think?

Actually Rakhi is an ardent follower of Gandhiji. She claims to be very closely following the principles which dictated the life of Gandhiji. She is a vegetarian, teetotaler, speaks no evil, no backbiting and she fights for justice.
Says she, “I am a true Gandhian. Gandhiji once said: ‘Bura mat suno, bura mat kaho aur bura mat dekho’. I am born with these qualities. I don’t bitch about anyone, I never have any interest in other’s dirty linen and I can’t see people doing wrong and be quiet
Haa aur logo to bura dikhao zaroor. Its like the source of vulgarity claiming that I don’t see any evil so I am good.
“I speak the truth. That’s why people don’t like me. They think I am arrogant. But one quality that brings me closer to Gandhiji is the ability to fight against injustice. You remember how I grounded Mika when he kissed me. It was a true example of Gandhigiri.”
Where did Gandhigiri come into picture? Did she ever protest or sat on an hunger strike?
Rakhi says that she has a mission to fulfill in this country like Gandhiji. “Just as he fought to free this country from British, I want to free this country from corruption. This is my ultimate aim,” says Rakhi.
On being asked how her item dance is on the line of Gandhian principles, she says, “Item dance is not a crime. It’s an art and I pursue it with a vanity. it’s takes a lot of hard work to perform. Gandhiji also believed in working hard.”
She is doing us a great favour in freeing this country of corrupt politicians, especially the old ones. Do I really need to tell you how? I am sure you are all smart people to guess that.
Lets imagine an hypothetical situation of Gandhiji meeting Rakhi Sawant
Rakhi- I am a great fan of yours bapu. It was my childhood dream to meet you one day and I don’t believe my luck.
Gandhiji- Even I don’t believe my luck that a girl like you actually idolizes me. What work do you do beti ?
Rakhi- I really work hard for my money bapu. I even work in the night and don’t sleep before my client or boss sleeps.
Gandhiji- That’s very good beti. We all should work towards creating a great India. Its the youth of today who have to take the initiative. Sadly people are now resorting to violence to get their job done.
Rakhi- That’s really unfortunate bapu. You know I was once molested by a singer’s brother. But I never slapped him or try to take revenge. I fought for my rights and lodged a complain against him. He did try to embarrass me in a TV show but I was strong. I held onto your principles which I adored so much since childhood. I have no vengeance in me but I all I want is a punishment for him.
Gandhiji- You really make me proud my dear beti. Does your employer doesn’t pay you enough? Why are you wearing this torn out cloth?
Rakhi- Actually bapu I don’t have AC in my house. So to have some respite of this scorching heat, I have to reduce my clothing. Plus I am of the opinion that I shouldn’t put up clothes on my body when half the country’s population don’t have access to good clothing. Even you wore only dhoti during the time of your struggle.
Gandhiji- But you are a woman! You should cover yourself in khaadi and not nets.
Rakhi- Bapu, please! rules are to be modified with times. If you can wear only dhoti then why can’t I wear only nets?
Gandhiji- Ok, Ok. I have heard that a bhakt of mine has been sent to jail.
Rakhi- Yes, Sanjay Dutt is in jail for the crime of keeping weapons in his possession. He was also involved in a friendly relationship with Dawud.
Gandhiji- Poor guy. But I am happy that there are still followers of me in this world. But beti you should seriously consider putting some clothes on.
Rakhi- Oh please bapu! zamana badal gaya hai. Even your close friend, Nehruji, was dating Mountbatten’s wife. You seems to be the only person who got a raw deal.
Gandhiji- No regrets, beti. Unfortunately the people who hated me and got me killed are now famous in this country. Its really sad that RSS have grown in strength and power since independence. Ok then let me go back again. Keep in touch. I was a pleasure meeting you.
Rakhi- It was an honour meeting you bapuji.

After getting unprecedented huge traffic on my posts on Abhishek Aishwarya wedding, few hate mails from visitors terming me the scum bag of society who despises happiness just because I am not destined to it and HUGE google adsense revenue, I have decided to post exclusive photos.
