Reshammiya to take off his cap

Himesh ke Khoon bhare aanso

Bollywood’s famous and unique singer Himesh Reshmiya is being forced to remove his cap for a scene. This is how he informed us of this tragic incident.

I will not wear the cap for a particular shot for just 10 minutes in the film Aap Ka Suroor. The cap has always been lucky for me.

The cap has been lucky for him. He owes his success to his cap, the torn one, and that’s the reason he hasn’t even changed it. Its a blessing bestowed upon his by a deity which has promised him success as long as he wears it. His fans are sad at this gesture of his.

The trademark cap will come off, but all Reshammiya fans need not get disappointed for the cap will be off only for a 10 minute shot in the film.

They too have an emotional attachment with the cap. Himeshji’s sacrifice will never be forgotten. This will go down in history as one of the greatest sacrifices Bollywood has ever seen. It’s a sacrifice of his beloved cap. His cap is his crown, the crown which asserts his position as the king of nasal singing. A cap which has been his only humsafar when people criticize his nose, his singing and his music. But he also feels that only 1% criticize him, the rest are his fans! Well he is still to understand that silence doesn’t mean acceptance.

He was also bestowed by an ability which is rare, he can sing by his nose. I am sure many researchers must be desperate to analyze this wonderful, but still flat, nose, another blessing. His blessed nose has earned him many laurels

  • Filmfare awards (2005)
    • “Best Playback Singer (Male)” for Aashiq Banaya Aapne
  • Zee Cine Awards (2006)
    • “Best Playback Singer (Male)” for Aashiq Banaya Aapne
  • IIFA Awards Dubai (2006)
    • “Best Playback Singer (Male)” for Aashiq Banaya Aapne

He recently remarked about R D Burman that sometimes he too used to sing with his nose but surprisingly he later apologized to Asha Bhonsle for his comment. Is singing by nose a bad thing? Or he acknowledges that his blessing is actually a disability which the deity gave him in lieu of his magic cap.

Anyway lets wait for Aap ka suroor to be released, I hope it will be another string in his torn cap. Till then

AaaN jaaN AaaN jaaN aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa jaaN
