A friend of mine shot this picture today in the morning. Even though he is not a pro but this picture speaks volume of his skills and his 10X optical zoom camera.

Today there is not one but 2 piktar of the day, why? Well if you don’t know, today is valentine’s day so everyone looks for a partner..right?
Young girls, hmm..how do you make sure?, seeing valentine’s day card in Ahmedabad. It seems that the VHP has instructed its cadets not to interfere with a couple of burqa clad women, to promote certain aspects of human trait in minorities, but oppose everything which is remotely couple.
1. A man is allowed to roam with another man. 2 is a company, 3 is a pleasure,
2. Any other couple is strictly not allowed, be it even animals.
Why only this day to oppose couples? Well because they are opposed to St. Valentine and the cupid and not to love. Then why do they not have their own love day? Lets say 6th December as BD Lav day!
Activists getting ready to not let couples meet today. Rule 1 is being followed here.
Contrasting pics, aren’t they?

WILL SHE… WON’T SHE? Governor of West Bengal Gopal Krishna Gandhi with Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, on the eighteenth day of her indefinite hunger strike, in Kolkata.
She is on a hunger strike to protest against the Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya decision to hand over land to TATA to build a factory. Well I wonder how can she sustain herself for 18 days without food! In fact I really doubt politicians drama of hunger strikes, they are nothing but a tactic to attract attention. It seems that the Government did all what it could to rehabilitate the effected villagers but our Mamta didi is hell bent upon to conjure up issues out of nothing.
The plant, at Singur, will initially directly employ 2,000 persons, and is expected to create employment in excess of 10,000 jobs among the vendors and service providers in the vicinity of the plant. The construction work will commence shortly and the plant will be commissioned in 2008.
Is she not happy that 10,000 people will get employment?

Our Sania ji’s sponsors must be quite happy after her recent Doha success. She has endorsed every brand she could lay her hands on. So here are the sponsors
1. Pendant from Kundan Jewellery
2. Bangles from Navratna
3. That SEKC nose ring from Hyderabad jewelers.
4. Lipstick from Levon
5. Belts and bags from ??? (I think a gift from her ever-young-just-30-going-on-31-Amma)
6. Swiss watch
Damn her ears are not visible!
A day after she clinched the mixed doubles gold at the Doha Asian Games, India’s youngest sporting icon Sania Mirza returned to her native Hyderabad on Thursday (December 14).
Mirza missed the gold in the Women Singles as Chinese Zheng Jie overcame the 20-year-old Indian 6-4 1-6 6-1 in a clash lasting almost two hours.
Mirza, who enjoyed a breakthrough 2005 when she became the first Indian to claim a WTA title and reach the top-50 in the women’s rankings, has had a relatively disappointing season.
But one gold and two silvers at the Asian Games have put her back on the winning league.
“Obviously I’ve had a tough year, It’s been a very average year but at the time when I had to peak, I did. I think I am playing the best tennis I ever did and I think my fitness levels have gone up quite a few notches and that has helped my performance a lot and I think I worked hard in the last one, one-and-a-half month and I’m happy that it’s paying off now,” Mirza told reporters after arriving at her native Hyderabad.
We Indians are masters at making someone a star over small successes. Remember Hrishikesh Kanitkar? He was a hero after he played the magnificent knock against Pakistan in Dhaka. He cemented his position in the team for another year but unfortunately his newly found stardom was quickly forgotten because of his poor performances. Same is the case with Sania ji. Lets see. She is only 20, she has been from 20 for long i guess..hmm…may be 21, and a long time before she ties her knot so fingers crossed.
The gold at the Mixed Doubles event was sweet revenge for Mirza and her partner Leander Paes, who won a bronze in the 2002 Asiad in South Korea.
Though Mirza said all players aimed at the gold medal, she was happy by playing good tennis.
“Ya, little bit, you are disappointed (at losing out on the gold medal), but having said that, I played some great tennis and I think Zheng (Zheng Jie of China) just deserved to win on that particular day. I didn’t play with my best tennis but I think I gave all I had and I think that’s more important. I gave my 100 percent but you know, silver is not so bad either,” Mirza said.
