Lockdown in sector 4!

Our system indicates unusual usage of your account. In order to protect Gmail users from potentially harmful use of Gmail, this account has been disabled for up to 24 hours.

If you are using any third party software that interacts with your Gmail account, please disable it or adjust it so that its use complies with the Gmail Terms of Use. If you feel that you have been using your Gmail account according to the Terms of Use or otherwise normally, please contact us using this form to report this problem.

This is the error message i got while trying to transfer my gmail mails to yahoo mail. That 3rd party software is yahoo transfer engine that just shut down my gmail. It has to transfer 950 MB of stuff :) I decided to back my mails after reading this I feared losing all my gmail mails so made an account with yahoo beta. But my browser seems to hang whenever i open that yahoo account. Gmail still rocks! Yahoo beta is so clumsy and packed. The best part about gmail is the conversation thing. (Ideal if you exchange lot of love letters at least you know what were your previous arguments and what’s the topic of discussion ). Read the full review here

It downloaded all my folders but no mails in them

Bypass proxy servers

by Sharique on June 26, 2006

Its not natural of me to post a technical entry on my blog but for the benefit of many friends who have been coerced to live in a moderated WWW, i though of sharing this.
Basically this software tunnels so that you don’t connect through the proxy server but through the your-freedom servers.

1.) Go to http://your-freedom.net/ Get an account and download the Windows full installer (if u use linux then you need to have sun java installed j2re)
2.) You need to configure it by feeding in you proxy address and the port.
3.) If it fails to select the best possible server then manually feed in ems05.your-freedom.de:80
4.) Select the option for relaying http and socks 4/5 proxies.
5.) You can also select the application you want to configure in the your-freedom window as well. Just make sure the application you are trying to connect has host as’localhost’ or ’127.0.0.1′ and port as 1080 (in case of http) and 8080 for socks.
6.) Now connect the your-freedom.

Find all the info you need here http://www.your-freedom.net/117/ Its really comprehensive.

Yahoo sucks!

by Sharique on June 17, 2006

I wonder how people use yahoo mail. I have been trying to send few important emails and they all, unfortunately, happen to be someone@yahoo.co.in ids. They all have bounced back with the message

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification
THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY.YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE.
Delivery to the following recipient has been delayed:
someone@yahoo.co.in

Message will be retried for 2 more day(s)

Technical details of temporary failure:
TEMP_FAILURE: SMTP Error (state 12): 451 mta127.mail.in.yahoo.com Resources temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. [#4.16.4:190].

And after 2 days it fails permanently! It has been more than a year since i have shifted to gmail. And gmail rocks! Its the centre point to all my activities on the net. It offers me enough storage to back up all my important data. At present my status is You are currently using 915 MB (33%) of your 2735 MB.
