K2 error in IE7

by Sharique on October 25, 2006

K2 is having problems with IE7. I had to change back to Regulus. Not just my blog but almost all the blogs which use K2 0.9.1. Check out http://www.technorati.com/search/http://getk2.comAs I try to open my blog in IE7, it shows error on page and then finally crashes! I have absolutely no idea what is the problem but I hope the guys at K2 take care of it soon. I am dying to switch back to K2

The header image with the moon looks good and appropriate for the moment.

Cheers,

The error report you are seeing is a default that comes up when debug is turned on. You can turn it off through the options menu and be none the wiser that anything is wrong with K2.

As for the folks who developed the K2 Theme, they will need to figure out what specifically is causing a bind in IE7’s britches, but the Theme will work fine if people just click through the warning.

The error might not be with K2 as much as it is probably with a Plugin. Consider turning them on and off and checking to see if that is causing the problem. Either way, you don’t need that debugging feature turned on.

Lorelle,
That error is not the end of problem, IE crashes after that! That screenshot was to show the error message. And plus switching themes seems have have solved my problem so that means plugins are not the source of trouble.

Woah! Getting Lorelle to comment in here. Great stuff maan!

I also heard IE 7 has got a really crappy installation process which requires you to boot up twice. I am happy with my firefox 2. Don’t remember when I last used IE… lol

Aha! This has been long overdue. I wonder why any one of us fix that. FYI, I think all version of IE suffers that.

Sagaro,
Even I was more than surprised :D IE7 requires 2 restart, one after removing previous version of IE7 beta and the other after installing IE7…weird! But then majority of people still use IE and i had a decrease in traffic over the last few days and the reason was because people had trouble accessing this site. Anyway this theme is temporary, i am thinking of using K2 again but only after it works with IE7

Zeo,
Yes previous versions of IE too gave error messages but they didn’t crash. IE7 is crashing and that’s the major problem!

I heard from a LOT of people in the last few days that IE7 is crashing on their machines and giving them all kinds of errors. Machines that are old, brand new, and in between. Some use WordPress, some have never heard of it.

You are not alone. It doesn’t help solve your problem, but you are not alone in the wilderness of IE pain and suffering.

Lorelle,
In fact firefox 2.0 seems to be crashing a lot even. Both of these version seems to be running into trouble and i think they have been brought out in hurry just to capture market. IE 7 and firefox 2.0 were in beta for many months. I in fact downloaded them but those errors, like crashing, still continue to haunt the final releases.

I have developed for Flock these days :P
