Man, why can’t we get out of our communist mentalities??? Whatever he is doing is from his own money.
We better focus on our efforts to see if we can create that much of wealth in 1.5 generations.
Sharique 06.21.07 at 8:39 pm
VP,
Yes its his own money but what about resources that are being wasted? why do they need 300 supporting staff for 10-15 members of his family?
VP 06.22.07 at 12:16 pm
Come on Sharique,
Thats his own money again. And after all, he is generating some employment. The money which would otherwise be kept under iron chests, will start circulating. Those 300 supporting staff are in turn going to support the shops nearby by purchasing their life-essentials – groceries, transportation, simple things like a chai-kitli etc. A chai vendor can survive selling tea to 300 clients.

VP, you are perfectly correct as far as economic impact is concerned. My objection was on this lavish display of wealth. What right does he have to live in a 60 storeyed building when other don’t even have a roof over their heads. Forget a common Indian, consider the people who work in Reliance. The working conditions are pathetic, salary a pittance and above all the work load extreme.
Saying all these I understand that he has right over his money.

Dear Mr.Mukhesh,
You are a real man in the world
GOD always bless you

Unlike the Ultra-Corrupt politicians, who usually hide their money in Swiss Bank and prefer Dhoti-Kurta to fool common Indians, Mukesh Ambani isn’t shy to display his wealth, he pays taxes for it, brings employment through his industries, n profits to his Share holders, so people stop that Neo-Communist attitude of “distributing wealth to poor”,heck, he isn’t Demi-God, stop been jealous of his wealth.
Ranjit 12.09.07 at 10:59 pm
And I’m not a Reliance Employee nor a Share-Holder…

Well, Good Luck to the Rich Man… but isnt this building coming up on a Muslim Graveyard (a Waqf Property)., illegally occupied by the Govt. of Maharashtra and auctioned for peanuts. If Mr. Richie Rich is having a clear case, he must clear his name. Otherwise this will stick to his name. This building built on a Muslim Graveyard, illegally occupied by its owner. You cant change history. Ironically, State Govt’s, have illegally occupied Waqf Properties invarious cities. Shame on the Government. On the one hand they have the State Waqf Boards – and on the other – the Govt. literally and physically (illegally) occupies those Waqf Properties. It means, Govt. is the biggest land-grabber / thief. How can the public trust the system, when such things come to light. Democracy is failing in India. It is going in the direction of mobocracy. This is not healthy, not to use stronger language.

The man has earned it – well, thats not the debate i want to get into, he has earned it at the cost of natural resources that are irrecoverable. Apart from all that he has dug out of Earth, Its impossible for everyone to aim at building a 27 storeyed home, unfortunately Earth does not have so much for people’s greed knows no bounds.
