Bhopal: After arresting three persons for having sexual intercourse with a cow, the Guna police is not sure how to proceed with the case against them.
This reminds me of the the movie in which the whole village suffered due to rampant female foeticide and finally there is just one girl left who is bought for 5 lacs by a rich family. She is subjected to worse forms of tortures by sharing bed with even the father of man she was married to. This extremity was necessary so as to instill fear in the hearts of villages where it was being practised. But I was in awe when I read this news. The police had a tough task deciding on which law was breached
The trio has been booked under Section 377 (unnatural offences) of the Indian Penal Code.
They were produced in court yesterday and remanded to police custody.
According to the police, the trio committed the offence at Mela Ground at Kumbhraj town on Tuesday and were seen by a shopkeeper, who immediately reported to the police

A Guna police officer said they might do a DNA check or send the cow’s vaginal swab and the semen traces of the accused for forensic examination, he said.

A Sudanese man has been forced to take a goat as his “wife”, after he was caught having sex with the animal.
The goat’s owner, Mr Alifi, said he surprised the man with his goat and took him to a council of elders.
They ordered the man, Mr Tombe, to pay a dowry of 15,000 Sudanese dinars ($50) to Mr Alifi.
“We have given him the goat, and as far as we know they are still together,” Mr Alifi said.
Mr Alifi, of Hai Malakal in Upper Nile State, told the Juba Post newspaper that he heard a loud noise around midnight on 13 February and immediately rushed outside to find Mr Tombe with his goat.
“When I asked him: ‘What are you doing there?’, he fell off the back of the goat, so I captured and tied him up.”
Mr Alifi then called elders to decide how to deal with the case.
“They said I should not take him to the police, but rather let him pay a dowry for my goat because he used it as his wife,” Mr Alifi told the newspaper.

See it is very common for human beings to have sex with animals. Actually in urban India, people don’t often get the opportunity or space to have as much contact with cattle.
I had a friend in college, who once told me how he used to have intercourse with a buffalo and once she all of a sudden during the process, got up and he had a real nightmare….took a few days to recover from the injury.
Similarly, I know so many incidents like that of one person in Bhopal whose goat was stolen but when he heard her ‘mein, mein’…from a nearby house, he found his neighbour in the act. The entire mohalla beat up the guy whose wife had been away to her parents’ place and the husband had in the meantime fallen for goat
So, Goats and cows are easy prey in cities and every year in compilation of IPC, you find many such cases. Though important and mass-circulation papers often don’t report them for fear of ‘offending sensibilities’. Tabloids and little known agencies do that.
In villages, its very common for herdsmen. And that is why often in old texts people were asked to stay away from ‘janwar ke saath zina’. I once read a tablighi booklet that had an interesting line…’aadmi/aurat/janwar ke saath zina ke baad hamaam zaruri hai’, goya ki jo na jaanta ho woh bhi jaan jaye ki aisa mumkin hai. Now educated guys who indulge in it call themselves zoophile. This is a topic if you once start writing….it could turn into a voluminous text but I can’t be more explicit despite my authority on such subjects.

Ok if i leave out the funny aspect of it then i think its a serious issue. I mean are men so desperate they don’t even spare animals! Thats why its always advisable to get married early

Very serious. That’s why scientists are not coming in our society or great innovative mathematiciains, physicians and other experts. The most productive age 13-19/20-25 when your mind and body are most productive, are spent in …you know. See the age of Gandhi, Ramanujan and CV Raman, when were they married? All between 10-14. Now when you don’t have dating or social sanction to boy-girl friendship in the society (except a section of elite in metros), and you have raised marriage age…to kya hoga? dimaagh to saara kahin aur laga rahta hai …I was so desperate for marriage when I was 14 and had given my parents ultimatum but they didn’t listen. And it took another 14 years or so for me to get married. Thank god I did not live long in town/rural area.

Are you serious that this is a regular practice…Had heard abt a couple of incidents but I always thought that was some kinda ‘dimag ka fitur’

But there is one more side to it…who will marry me now considering the fact that i am still a student and don’t have a source of income..ab en ladkiyon ke baapoon ke bheje me yeh baat kaun daale…most of them are old orthodox morons who are a burden on the society…waise maine apne se bhi try maara tha lekin it turned out to be a tragedy

Even i had this notion that such cases are rare but Adnan shattered that! shayad hota ho towns/villages me…argh! i can’t even imagine
